Week 5 Power to the People

  7/12/23 Thursday

It is now the end of the power to the people project, yesterday on Wednesday we finally presented our pieces of art, and relaxed. If there was anything I could have changed I would have made sure we stuck to our work faster, and had begun to paint earlier on. The reason why, is that it was only just period 2 on Wednesday where I finished my painting which made me feel rushed, I can reflect on the idea that if I had gathered more ideas and put paint on the canvas it could of came out better. All in all the quality of our work was a projection of all of our combined skills and so for some of us it was much better to work collaboratively, but for me I still feel I could of done better in the presentation way. Perhaps a presentation board along with our art would have made it more memorable. In an honest way I did enjoy the idea of this NPDL process, but I can now say confidently that you must have a hard working group to produce a fulfilling final piece. The end.

Week 4 Power to the People

1/12/23

It is finally December, I begin to believe that having power means having knowledge, and for me that means battling those who hold more power than me. I was so excited for christmas, but became sad thinking I might receive nothing as my mum thought it a great idea to not buy presents this year, it is harmful, but I do understand the combat of marketing schemes during holiday time. Most if not all holidays have turned into a way for corporations to feed off the income of poor to middle class people. So if there's any message I could send, don't be a follower, be your own leader, make your own company, and profit from other people. That is how you bring power to the people.

Week 3 Power to the People

 Week 3

Last week, we painted and researched our individual projects. We did our base coats.

As the year is coming to the end, motivation is coming down, but we are almost done, and are in our independent stage.

Things we have to work on are just powering ahead, and throughout this process have learnt to collaborate well and communicate our needs. All is well

Week 2 Power to the People

 16/11/23 Thursday

In this week of deep learning at OC, we continue our project "Power to the People", and slowly yet thoroughly are building the skills of the 7C's.

1. What have you achieved/learned/found out since your last post?
-I have learnt more about tackling this project from multiple perspectives, so I am researching varied opinions on climate change but in the end I will decide which point of view I will take.

2. How effectively have you used your time in class?
-To speak the truth this week was very slow paced, but when my mind was focused I worked well.

3. How have you contributed to your groups progress?

4. Something going well in your group?
-Our collaboration skills are growing as of our communication.

5. Something not working well
-Motivation
-We are figuring out next steps to take in our project
-Next we will be discussing and taking advice from our mentors.

Week 1 Power to the People

 10/12/23 Friday

Hello there, fellow Earth enthusiasts! Imagine a world where our energy comes from sources that never run out, doesn't harm the planet, and keeps our air clean. That's the magic of renewable energy! I'm a year 10 student, and I'm super excited to share with you the wonders of renewable energy and how it's shaping a brighter future for us and our planet.

For the next few weeks me and a few of my classmates will be researching the effects we have had on our earth, and how we can better it, in regards to energy use.

So far we have learnt about multiple sources of renewable energy, and also about the way art can be used to communicate an idea. This is important for us, as art will be our medium. This week I have effectively taken in a variety of information, and have begun to build a google slide that will be our foundation for the project. I've managed to use my leadership skills to guide my peers on what strategy will be the most effective to attack this, giving roles, and allocating jobs.

We are aiming to be smooth sailing, and have been communicating well, though there have been some road blocks in relation to loss of motivation, among confusion behind what to do each period. But we have battled this with determination and encouragement.

Our next plans include being focused, and using our time wisely.
Follow me to stay up to date with what's coming next!

-Sincerely Pare
